Staying at The Martinsell Centre
As a comfortable country retreat, each twin-bedded self-contained apartment features an open plan kitchen and lounge area, separate toilet and a bathroom with shower.
Each non-smoking apartment is light and airy with large windows and stunning views over the garden.
The décor is neutral with tiled floors. Two of the apartments can also accommodate a third person on a sofa bed if required.
Conveniences including towels, bed linen, tea, coffee and kettle, fridge, hotplate, microwave and cookware are all provided, as are television and wireless internet access.
Breakfast baskets with your choice of cereals, juice, bakery and fruits can also be arranged ahead of time.
Apartments are available from 4.00pm on the day of your arrival until 10.30am on the day of your departure.
How to find The Martinsell Centre
Food and drink
In the town of Pewsey (two miles away), you’ll find a large Co-op supermarket as well as a delicious local bakery, specialist delicatessen, variety of restaurants and traditional pubs.
Marlborough (ten minutes by car) also hosts a wide variety of dining options: popular choices include Italian, Indian and Thai restaurants and there is a choice of supermarkets including Waitrose.
The White Hart Inn, just four minutes walk away at the bottom of the lane, is The Martinsell Centre’s friendly local hostelry, open in the evening for traditional food and real ales.
Within easy walking distance are other landmark Wiltshire pubs, such as The Waterfront on the canalside at Pewsey, perfect for a refreshing drink after time spent exploring the downs.
Nearby attractions
The Martinsell Centre is located close to the historic town of Marlborough in the ancient Vale of the White Horse.
Savernake Forest, the beautiful West Woods and the Kennet and Avon Canal, as well as the enigmatic Avebury stones, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Long Barrow are all nearby.
Stonehenge and the mediaval cathedral city of Salisbury and Roman city of Bath are just a short drive away.
