Russ Maher RGN, BSc (Hons)

Russ MaherRuss Maher has studied shamanism for ten years and has practiced as a Registered General Nurse for eighteen years, specialising in cardiac nursing.

As a freelance consultant he instructs the NHS, armed forces, prison and private sectors in his specialist knowledge of all levels of resuscitation and how they can best manage the highly disturbing and adrenaline fuelled situation of facilitating life in cardiac arrest and many other varied medical and surgical emergencies.

With a keen interest and innate understanding of the spiritual, Russ finds his medical insight is underpinned by a deeper empathy with his clients, patients and staff.

In 2002 Russ travelled to India to study with a Wise Woman who accelerated his path of self-discovery. On his return, Russ met with many Shaman and Mystics and embarked on extensive studies with the Shaman, Magician and Healer Peter Aziz and the Mystic and Mother of Fire, Peggy Dylan, under whose guidance he completed his Firewalk instructor certificate training at Sundoor Firewalking School.

Russ continues his shamanic practice and journey, working with the subtle and powerful aspects of the visible and invisible influences that coexist in our universe, to positively transform his own life and the lives of others.

Fire has a power so wild and intense that it allows our planet to sustain life and also rejuvenate itself. Within the core of the earth, Fires rage with such ferocity, they keep our earths iron ore core molten, maintaining a magnetic field like a dynamo. This protects all life on earth from the ravages of the constant solar radiation generated by the greatest source of Fire in our universe, our Star, the Sun.

When the elemental Fire is bought into any spiritual, evolutionary and transformative practice it delivers results. Hence Firewalking has remained one of the most transformative tools on our planet, practiced by many indigenous cultures for eons. With the correct guidance the element of Fire is a powerful ally to self empowerment and self realisation.
