Hiring The Centre

The Martinsell Centre offers a “home from home” feel - an idyllic location to stage your course or retreat. Set in beautiful rolling countryside, yet only an hour from London. You can rely on us to create the perfect atmosphere for your event, providing exclusive use of the centre and its mature grounds with private self contained accommodation and vegetarian, vegan or raw food and our own pure well water.

When the stars come out you can enjoy sharing magical moments around a glowing campfire for storytelling and sharing whilst listening to the owls with a soothing mug of hot chocolate.

The Martinsell Centre provides large group room (8.40m x 5.5m / 27'6" x 18'), which is equally suitable for yoga, meditation, group workshops or other activities. In the summer months we are also able to erect a marquee ( 3m x 4.5m ) in the garden which can be used for breakout space or larger group event.

We can also offer a uniquely tailored Firewalking workshop giving your group the opportunity to participate in this powerful magical and transformational experience. Firewalking? Find out more.

Here at Martinsell Centre we are very fortunate to have our own pure well water which originates from the underground lake under Martinsell Hill.  This is pumped throughout the centre for both drinking and bathing in.

Anyone hiring the centre benefits from the exclusive use of the large mature grounds. There are various outdoor seating areas to enjoy and in the summer savour a relaxing lunch or dinner on the terrace or under the canopy. In the gardens you’ll discover secret spaces to enjoy listening to birdsong or become lost in your own thoughts. Meditate peacefully in the Bee Garden or just relax and allow your mind to wander while you connect to nature. For those who enjoy walking there is direct access to Martinsell Hill where you can Walk the Dragons Tail.

We grow our own organic fruits and vegetables based on permaculture and organic principles. Kelly has built a series of raised beds out of slabwood which are filled with beautiful rich organic soil and covered with wood chippings to  prevent the soil from drying out.

The concept was to have a “no dig” kitchen garden where everything nourishes everything else. The leaves from the lime tree are gathered in the fall and then used to grow the potatoes in the Spring. Comfrey and nettles and steeped in well water make a rich fertilizer. Frogs, toads and bees are all encouraged to proliferate and help with keeping slugs and snails at bay and the rabbits are wired out to prevent the luscious new lettuce leaves and carrot toppings being devoured!
